Every Fall, the Same Impossible Question.

Your kid isn't struggling because something's wrong with them. They're struggling because nobody built a year around what's right with them.

Another year of dimming.

They used to light up about learning. Lately, that light has been fading. Quieter at dinner. Less excited on Sunday nights. You can feel it, and you can't fix it from the outside.

The 'support' that isn't.

Differentiation that's just more worksheets. An IEP that gathers dust. A 504 plan nobody follows. Meetings where you advocate and nothing changes. Or maybe you've already pulled them out, and now you're carrying it alone.

Brilliant, but 'not reaching potential.'

They can explain quantum mechanics at dinner but won't turn in an assignment. The system sees a behavior problem. You see an environment problem.

Looking for their people.

They've never had a friend who thinks the way they think. Not one. And you've watched them stop trying, or worse, start pretending to be someone they're not just to fit in.

The clock is ticking.

Whether they're 7 or 17, you know this: the longer they go without the right environment, the harder it gets. The research is clear. Early intervention in strengths-based communities has compounding effects. Every semester matters.

This fall doesn't have to look like last fall.

What if this year, instead of shrinking to fit, they grew into who they actually are?

What if they walked into a room and, for the first time, everyone in it thought the way they think? What if a mentor noticed when they were quiet and checked in? What if, by October, they mentioned a friend by name, not because you asked, but because they couldn't stop talking about them?

What if the light came back?

That's not a fantasy. It's happening right now, for 1,200+ families in 17 countries. And it can happen for yours.

Here's how we're different.

Young Scholars Academy is an accredited virtual learning community built specifically for learners whose brains work differently. Not built for everyone and then adapted. Built for them. Three things set us apart:

The Mentors.

Every mentor at YSA is neurodivergent or deeply experienced with neurodivergent learners. Many are parents of gifted or 2e kids themselves. They were these kids. They check in when someone's been quiet. They notice things most people miss. They message each other after sessions about breakthroughs. Your child will know the difference in the first five minutes.

The Size.

The average course has 5 students. Maximum of 8. No exceptions. Your child isn't performing for a room of 30. They're part of a conversation. The mentor knows what they're working on, what lights them up, and what they need.

The Campus.

Courses happen on Zoom. But that's not the whole story. Between sessions, students log into our virtual campus, a proprietary world we've spent three years building where they walk between buildings as avatars, sit with friends, eat lunch together, and build a social life that extends beyond any single course. Cameras are always optional. For kids who've been burned by screen fatigue, this changes everything. It's a place they choose to be.

“Anytime I ask my child what were the 3 highlights of your day, 1 of her 3 highlights is ALWAYS her YSA classes!”
— Eliza

3 Paths. One Village.

Every family comes to YSA for a different reason. We built 3 pathways so yours leads exactly where you need it to.

Enrichment Glow All-Access

Your child's teachers might say they're 'smart but not applying themselves.' You know the truth: they're not lazy, they're bored. They finish the assignment in five minutes and spend the rest of the period staring at the ceiling. They need content that goes deeper, mentors who keep up with them, and friends who finally think the way they think. All wrapped around their existing school schedule.

Homeschool Belonging All-Access

You pulled them out because you knew they needed something different. And in so many ways, it's working. They're learning. They're safe. They're becoming themselves again. But the social piece keeps you up at night. They need friends who think the way they think. You need parents who get it. And there are days when you're alone on this journey, wondering if you're doing it right. You are. And now you don't have to do it alone.

College Prep Accelerator All-Access

Most schools see a bright kid and give them more worksheets. Your teen is too smart for that. They need radically accelerated learning that shows colleges what they're truly capable of, without the busy work and demands that shut them down. They need executive function skills built around their strengths, a vision for the future, and a transcript they can actually be proud of.

01

Pick What Lights Them Up.

02

Build Your Week.

Most families start with 3 or more courses. Homeschool families often build a full daily schedule of 10+. You design the week that fits, mornings, afternoons, or both. Our AI scheduling assistant Scheduley can help you find the perfect fit.

03

Unlock the Village.

Enroll in 3 or more courses and your child unlocks the Friendship Social Club and our virtual campus. Between sessions, students gather in our proprietary virtual world, walking between buildings as avatars, sitting with friends, eating lunch together, and building the friendships that have been missing.

04

Meet Your Mentors.

Small groups averaging 5 students. Mentors who notice when your kid is quiet and check in. Weekly progress summaries so you always know how they're doing, every week, from every mentor. This isn't a screen. It's a relationship.

05

Watch What Happens.

By the end of the FIRST DAY, something shifts. They come out of the session with a look on their face you haven't seen in a while. By the end of the FIRST WEEK, they mention a classmate by name. They bring up something from their course at dinner, not because you asked. By week three, they're asking 'is it Tuesday yet?' That's the YSA Glow.

What families say

Parent testimonials

My kid has never had an adult outside our family truly understand him. His YSA mentor gets it, not because she read a book about gifted kids, but because she was one.

Patricia

We drove three time zones of schedule rearranging to make YSA work. Best decision we ever made. She found her people.

Elena

YSA is the only place my daughter has ever said 'these kids are like me.' That sentence changed our family.

Meredith

We tried everything. Tutors, therapists, other online programs. YSA is the first place he's wanted to show up. Every single week.

Diana

My son went from refusing to do schoolwork to asking me to sign him up for more YSA courses. The mentors see him in a way nobody else ever has.

Mr. Sam, Founder of Young Scholars Academy

Mr. Sam, M.Ed. · Fulbright Scholar · TEDx Speaker · Founder & Head of School

FROM MR. SAM

I spent most of my life feeling like I was stupid.

Not because I was. Because the entire education system was focused on what I was bad at. Every report card, every parent-teacher conference, every well-meaning intervention, all of it pointed at the gaps, the deficits, the things I couldn't do like everyone else.

Nobody talked about what I was extraordinary at. Nobody built a plan around my strengths. And so I spent years believing the story the system told me about myself.

It wasn't until later in life that I started to see it differently. That I started leading with what I was great at instead of apologizing for what I wasn't. And everything changed.

I've dedicated my life to making sure that doesn't happen for your kid.

That's why I built Young Scholars Academy. Not to fix what's 'wrong' with them, but to ignite what's right. To build an entire community around the premise that when you lead with strengths, everything else follows.

As I like to say: they don't need to change themselves. They just need to change seats.

Six years. 1,200+ families. 17 countries. And the thing I'm most proud of isn't the numbers. It's the texts I get from parents at 9 PM saying their kid mentioned a friend by name for the first time.

This fall, your kid can have that too.

We hear this every week

"But... it's online."

We hear it every week. "I want them off the screen." "I want something in person."

We get it. And we'd never argue that fresh air isn't important.

But here's what we've learned after six years and 1,200+ families:

The kid who won't go to in-person activities goes to this one.

The kid who shuts down in a group of 20 opens up in a group of 5.

The kid who masks all day stops masking here, because everyone in the room thinks the way they think.

This isn't passive screen time. It's roughly 50 minutes of live, small-group mentorship with someone who notices when your kid is quiet and checks in.

It's being seen.

And the friendships? They carry into the summer. Into the next year. Into adulthood.

That's not something most in-person programs can say.

THIS IS THE YEAR THAT MATTERS.

We need to talk about timing.

Many of these courses only open once a year. The fall semester is 16 weeks, but for families who choose the full-year option, it's 36 weeks of belonging. 36 weeks of friendships deepening. 36 weeks of a mentor who knows your child's name, their strengths, and their story.

That's not something you can start in January.

Here's what families tell us their kids experience at YSA:

Higher happiness

They look forward to something again.

Real belonging

They're part of a community that sees them.

Genuine friendships

Not forced. Not surface-level. Real.

Accelerated learning

Depth, rigor, and mentors who push because they believe.

Confidence

The kind that comes from being celebrated for who you are, not despite it.

Every semester matters. This door doesn't stay open.

Fall Questions

Everything About Fall Enrollment

From courses and pricing to community and enrollment — your questions answered.

Courses & Schedule

How long is each course?

Most courses meet once a week for roughly 50 minutes over 16 weeks (August to December). Many of our most popular courses extend to 36 weeks, running all the way from August to May, and they only open once a year. Advanced courses like AP classes and Teen D&D run for 75 minutes.

How many courses do families typically take?

Most families enroll in 3 or more courses. That's the sweet spot where your child unlocks the Friendship Social Club and virtual campus. Homeschool families often build full daily schedules with 10 or more courses. There is no cap. You design the week that fits your family.

What ages are fall courses for?

Fall courses serve students ages 5 to 25. Courses are grouped by age range so your child is always learning alongside peers their age.

What's the difference between summer and fall?

Summer camps are five-day tasters designed for exploration and discovery. Fall courses run once a week for 16 to 36 weeks. This is where deeper learning, stronger relationships, and lasting belonging happen. Many courses run the full year and only open once. We say: taste in the summer, build your life during the year.

Enrollment & Pricing

When do courses start?

Fall courses begin the week of August 24, 2026. Enrollment opens July 13. The Open House is July 15 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET. Families can meet mentors, explore 20+ virtual classrooms, ask questions, and experience the YSA community from the inside before enrolling.

How much do courses cost?

Courses start at $39 per week, roughly $500 per semester for 16 weeks. Payment plans start at 20% down to save your seat and lock it in. Groups are intentionally small, averaging 5 students, so spots fill quickly. ESA and charter funding are accepted, and many families pay zero out of pocket. Families enrolling in multiple courses can save significantly with our All-Access Passes.

What's an All-Access Pass?

An All-Access Pass is a bundled year-long package that includes multiple courses, the full Village experience, and exclusive bonuses at significant savings over enrolling a la carte. Options include the Enrichment Glow All-Access for families supplementing school, the Homeschool Belonging All-Access for families building a full community, and the College Prep Accelerator All-Access for teens headed to college. Each comes in Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Do you require a formal diagnosis for giftedness or 2e?

No. We believe if you're here, you're meant to be here. We welcome all bright, curious, intense learners. There are no diagnosis requirements, test score requirements, or gatekeeping. If your child's brain works differently and they need a place where that is celebrated, YSA was built for them.

The YSA Experience

Is this on Zoom?

Courses run live on Zoom. Between sessions, students enrolled in 3+ courses get access to our virtual campus — a proprietary world we've spent years building where they walk around as avatars, hang out with friends, and build real social lives. Cameras are always optional.

What if my kid doesn't like their course?

The Double Guarantee means families can try YSA with confidence. If your child isn't loving their course after week one, they can swap into a different course. If YSA isn't the right fit within 30 days, receive a full credit that never expires. Keep every bonus. No risk.

What's the Open House?

The Open House is a free back-to-school night for your family. On July 15 at 5 PM PT / 8 PM ET, you'll meet Mr. Sam, hear from current families, explore 20+ virtual classrooms, meet the actual mentors who teach each course, experience the virtual campus, and get every question answered live. Founding Families who enroll by July 16 receive exclusive bonuses and an annual rate lock.

Which Path Is Yours?

Their Best Year Starts With One Decision.

Right now, a kid who thinks like yours is in a course they chose, with a mentor who was once just like them, surrounded by friends who don't think they're weird... they think they're interesting. Your child is one decision from finding out what that feels like.

Founding Families who enroll by July 16 get exclusive bonuses and an annual rate lock.

Many courses only open once a year. The average group has just 5 students.

Limited spots available per class.
